A mini-project I've developed for my own pleasure. Inspired by Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations with God, it explores how people establish and manipulate their new-found relationships with religion to come to terms with their day-to-day issues.

Flutters is a solo show I've been working on since January 2014. It follows Petal, who throws a surprise birthday party for her abusive girlfriend. With the audience as guests, we witness snippets of Petal's torment, as she struggles to prepare for the party, in a failed attempt to keep spirits high and put on a happy face. The following extract sees Petal explaining the ins and out of her job as a makeup artist at a funeral home.
Santoriné is a script in progress, following the story of two sisters. Izzy is a graduate, interning and temping in offices to make ends meet. Carmen is a graduate, who works as a prostitute. In a world where opportunities are few and far between and decent jobs are rare, Santoriné looks at what people are willing to do for survival. Scene 10 looks at how an unexpected pregnancy forces Carmen to be creative about finding new ways to make money. We follow on from an argument between the two sisters as Izzy admits to having blackmailed Dale, the (married) potential father of Carmen's child, into looking after Carmen.
